Which Opt-in Page Should I Use?
Q: I have a webpage and I want to do a free teleseminar and I can’t decide on which opt-in page to use. I have two choices. One is giving them free information and once they go to the page for the free information I get them to register for the teleseminar. The second option is to get them to register for the teleseminar and free information all at once.
Here is an easy rule of thumb I think which will help you in that situation. One would be where is that traffic coming from? If you are sending traffic to that particular page from your email list so these people have already signed up for an email list or you are somewhere along the line, then you probably if you do not want to, you do not have to build another sub list because you already have their information.
If the people are coming to that page and they have never signed up for anyone of your list before then my recommendation is that definitely is to have a registration page. My personal preference is to have a registration like an opt-in page on every single types of teleseminar that I do. The reason being is because I like to build sub list of people who have an interest in different types of material.
So, now down the road, I can start targeting different offers to those sub lists of people based on their interest and it proves to be a lot more effective. The trouble is and it takes a little more effort so it really depends. Some people do not like having lots and lots of autoresponders of sub lists and things like that. I personally do just because it allows me to have a lot more targeted marketing and I can provide a lot more targeted offers down the road.
