Should I Wait to Promote to My List?
Q: I have been thinking about putting together a four-module coaching class for couples and I am working on developing a list to try and sell to. I’m not sure how or when I should promote to my list or if I should wait until it is a substantial size before promoting. What are your thoughts?
What you want to do is when you are starting out is look to build your list first. A good way to do this is to conduct teleseminars and give people great value. After you have built a relationship with the people on your list, then look to release your product.
A great example of this is when I was starting my particular business. I made an effort to do a free teleseminar every week for roughly 15 weeks. I built my list very quickly and I was able to build a great relationship with them and still to this day and that was a few years ago. Still to this day, I have very a very high converting list because of that.
When I sell products and services or when I promote products and services, I have a great conversion especially when you compare it to a lot of people who have bigger list but not as great of a relationship. Again, I like using teleseminars to really strengthen that relationship, build a bond with my list and then look to sell products and services on the back end.
I think that using that strategy is going to work to your advantage because people through your free content, through your free teleseminars are going to get to know, like, and trust you and therefore are going to feel more open to wanting to purchase your back end products and services. The more you give them for free the more they are going to buy because they feel they can trust you with that subject matter.
