Q:  I added a page and built a blog last week and it is not on my home page, it is just got my URL\blog and of course nobody has been on it. My traffic is finally starting to build so I do not want to disrupt that and I do not understand WordPress. I do not know how that compares to having a website if you already have a website. I do not know how that all fits and how do people find your blog if you use WordPress.

WordPress is a fantastic tool. It is the tool that I used and in fact that is the tool that I know 90% of my colleagues and other marketers use because it is very easy to get up and get started and get going. As far as people finding your blog, it is very much just like any other website and you still need to promote it.

The great news is the way that search engines work, they love fresh content so every time you add a new post to your blog, the search engines spider your blog and it helps you get indexed for a certain words that you are using in your blog post and so forth.

So it naturally works to your favor as far as helping you get ranked high for a certain keyword just based on you using the blog and that is why many search people who are not familiar with search engine optimization strategies like myself and many other people love using blogs because we do not need to know much. We just need to know how to make post and make sure that we target our post with keywords that we want to get ranked for, so that is the difference between blogs. If you have got a website that is ranking high, then the best thing to do is link from your website to your blog and vice versa and that will help drive the traffic back and forth.

It sounds that you have invested quite a bit on your website already so you probably want to keep it as is and then use the blog as a secondary way to kind of compliment what you are already doing.
