Educating People About Teleseminars

Author: Stu McLaren

Q: How you educate people on what a teleseminar is and how to call in and interact with you?

The easiest way to describe it is to give them terminology they are already familiar with. So the way I like to describe a teleseminar to people who are not familiar with it is let them know that it is just like a phone call that is with a big group. They dial in and they get to listen to me or you in this case on the other end and when we open up the line, they can also interact that way, but it is a group phone call.

When you keep it in simple terms that they are familiar with like a phone call, using the phone, dialling and things of that nature, it will alleviate a lot of challenges that you have.

I have noticed challenges occur when you start using terminologies that they are not familiar with such as teleseminar and even in some cases teleconference draws a lot of people off. In the corporate world, teleconference is a term that many are familiar with. You may want to think about your benefit if you are targeting the corporate world but just use terminologies that they are most familiar with.

Keep it simple. Remember, it is just like a group phone call where they can dial in and listen and then go from there.
