Do You Have to Get People to Opt-in Every Time For Weekly Teleseminars?
Q: Do you think it is easier and better for people to just remember a domain that has information on it about my free teleseminar every week rather than having to opt-in?
Yes and no. Yes, I think it definitely makes it easier for people to remember. The no comes in as far as building sub list and things of that nature. If you are given away the call information without requiring an opt-in of any kind then you are not able to build a sub list. This is one of those areas that need testing because it may depend as far as you may be able to get a lot more numbers on your call when it is free and it is available and nobody has to opt in.
However, you do not know who those people are and you cannot communicate with them afterwards. So it really is a Catch-22 as far as that goes. My advice, I like building the sub list and the reason being is it just allows me to market to those people afterwards and single them out so if I, let us say, I offer something special to the people on that call, I can send it to just those people and not everybody else.
It also allows me to find out, for example, about a year and a half ago, I did like 15 weeks straight of nonstop teleseminars and I was creating new content, and the content that I was creating was on all kinds of different subjects but what was interesting was I was quickly able to identify which subjects were more popular than others based on the sub list that I was able to build and so that, for me, was very insightful because I was then able to create the products that were most popular first and then work backwards from there.
A good point though is if people lose the information or misplace it or do not get it then you will run into a problem there, but I think I prefer doing it, requiring the opt-in just for the reason of building a sub list.
