Using Different Copywriting Styles in Different Markets

Q: I’m new to writing mass emails to my list and copywriting. Do you have any advice on the style I should write in? Will it be different styles to different markets?

I think whenever you are dealing with any market, the key is to communicate with them in the same tone, style and feeling that they would communicate with each other in. So, my advice to you is, do not worry about so much treating them any differently. What I would do is treat them the way you would normally treat them if you were face to face. Whenever I am writing copy or I am creating emails or promotions or things like that, I always picture one person on the other side of my computer that I am communicating with.

I write very much like I talk and the reason being is because it comes across relaxed, it comes across that I am communicating with the same language and it is very easy to read. So, my advice is to write like you were talking to somebody in that particular market. Visualize that person on the other side of your computer as you are typing and it will come across that way. So depending on how you are speaking to the market in person I would just model your written work after that.
