Using a Blog vs Constant Contact
Q: I have been using Constant Contact to spread out a newsletter but I am wondering if there is a better advantage to a blog rather than something like that? I am not very tech savvy.
I definitely think you should look to create a blog. I think it is one of the easiest and fastest ways to distribute content. Even if you are not tech savvy whatsoever it will help you get more traffic to your website. I am not a search engine optimization wiz but I will tell you that when I write articles and post them on my blog, I do get traffic that comes from search engines. People click to read my blog just based on the new post that I do. Search engines love blogs because they are constantly updated that is why they naturally rank them higher for keywords. I recommend WordPress because that is the one I personally use.
I set up my wife’s blog the awhile ago using WordPress. She does not know anything about blogging and she now has a blog, for the charity that we work with, World Teacher Aid. That is set up on a WordPress blog. She is able to add content and update it with pictures and things of that nature easily. It is all done through WordPress and then here is how you use it with Constant Contact. Your Constant Contact contains the database of all the people that are on your email list. What I would do is continue to use it and then send people email messages with a link to the new blog post that you add to your WordPress blog. You could give them a little intro about the article and then the link that drives people back to your blog.
