Using an Ask Campaign as a Persuading Tool

Author: Stu McLaren

Q: Is it completely uncultured to set up an Ask Campaign without the person you want to interview already having agreed to do it? Would you be able to use the power of a thousand people asking questions to be one way of persuading perhaps the person to do that.

I think it is a great situation. I see no problem running an Ask Campaign even if you have not secured the person for interview because it would be interesting to find out what questions people are ready to ask and to go to them and say, “Look we have had a thousand questions submitted regarding your latest book that you released or your latest presentation or whatever and these people really want to hear from you.” That sets a great stage for the person coming to the call. And then, “Here is an idea, are you open to it?” When there is already an expressed interest that established, it creates a much easier situation that “tell” them on doing an interview with you.
