Capturing Information off of TV Viewers

Author: Stu McLaren

Q: How to you capture people’s information that are watching TV? I already have a website. I already have a shopping cart, which I have been using for years. I already used Constant Contact for an opt-in page where my ezines so it is fixed with Constant Contact. These are going to be television viewers. Some of them may not have an email address or may not have access to online, so when I announce it, they can either call us or go online to opt in or call and get information.

Also, once you have information, what software program do you use to send out either the telephone calls as a reminder and provide the information of the dial-in number and the pass codes or send out to email?

You want to drive them either to a webpage and/or a phone number. The key with the webpage that is you are going to have some type of a squeeze page or an opt-in page, and you are going to use your Constant Contact since you have already got that established. So you want to set up some type of an opt-in page where the people are going to go to find out more information or to get whatever you are offering that is where they are going to opt-in. From there, they are entered into an autoresponder sequence and that autoresponder sequence is kind of what answers your next question as far as what technology is going to be sent to remind them of the call.

There are going to have multiple messages that are going to be sent to them, reminding them of the date of call, giving them that information as well. Once they opt-in, they are going to be taken to a thank you page and on the thank you page, you will have all the information that you want them to have if it is about that particular call.

Now, what happens if people are dialing in to a phone number and how you stay in contact with them? Well, similar to the deal. You are going to ask yourself the question, are you going to have somebody on the other end answering those calls or are you driving people to a phone number that they can dial in to and then leave their name and phone number and/or email address.

Either way, you are going to want the capture their information, so if they are just leaving it on a phone line there is a lot of different types of technology available to do that. You are going to have had somebody go in and collect all that information, put it into some type of an Excel spreadsheet or if you have somebody live doing it, they are going to put into an Excel spreadsheet. Then to stay in contact with them, you could either enter them into an autoresponder sequence if you have got their email and/or send them voice broadcast, and I think this is what is going to help you most with people that are dialing in.

Voice broadcast give you the ability to send a recorded message to all of those people and send it to their phone line all at the same time, so you could record a message that says, “Hi, this is Stu and I just want to call and give you a quick reminder about our upcoming teleseminar that is happening on Tuesday at 8pm Eastern time. Make sure that you dial this number 555-555-5555 with this PIN code 1234#. So once again, you are going to want to dial in on Tuesday, and this is the number you will call.” So it is a recorded message that you simply upload to a system and it automatically sends that out to all those people that you have on that particular list.

There are a couple companies I want to recommend to you for voice broadcasts. One is Automated Marketing Solutions, they do it, and there is another company called VoiceShot that will also do voice broadcasting.
